I would like to start the forum with a very important topic, the white canaries. As we don´t evaluate type and category in these birds, it is necesary that we give much importance to their plumage and shape.
Thank you for an Excellent Magazine and most interesting topics. The White is one of my long time favorites Lipochrome canaries and I look forward to reading about it. If I may make a suggestion:
I have not had the pleasure of experiencing a World Show in Europe, yet hope that I will. As such what I know about the White canaries exhibited in Europe is by seeing pictures and reading occasional comments from breeders and exhibitors. And I know that here in the US most breeders do not have the latest knowledge about these canaries, and we are not aware of the trajectory of progress and improvements.
So, my suggestion is that American Breeder Magazine help us, its readers, with correct information about these Topics, plus all Topics pertinent to the Whites!
+ Do Dominant Whites and Recessive Whites compete in one or separate classes
+ Are Recessive and Dominant Whites phenotypically identical or distinct
+ Do Dominant whites have any vestiges of yellow lipochrome in their feathers
+ Are exhibited Whites single or double Dominant (Heterozygous or Homozygous)
+ unusual but... Any concerns about Whites and Macrocephaly,,, as some are impressive in head size compared to Reds and Yellows.
